Airsoft, What's the Hype?
The sport of Airsoft is popular worldwide, bringing hundreds of thousands of players to the field annually to fire plastic BBs at each other through a series of fantasy-minded scenarios. At first glance, it looks like a bunch of grown men playing dress-up, who are afraid of "real" guns and only seem to have time to play in between long sessions at the gym. The truth is, it's none of these things, and I only learned that recently after sitting down with Christopher Wratten, owner of Ballahack Airsoft in Chesapeake, Virginia.
Airsoft BB and Hop-Up Basics
When starting into airsoft as a new player, there are many things to learn. One of the key parts of having an airsoft replica perform on the field and allow you to have a fun time is the hop-up. So what exactly is the hop-up? If you are just starting out, and reading the manual that came with your replica, the pictures show that it makes the bb “hop up” in the air during its path to its target. But there is much more behind this than that. The hop-up, and what it does, along with what BB weight you are using can totally change how your replica performs, and how your day out on the field goes.
New Product Wrap Up From SHOT Show 2022!
Not gonna lie, we kinda missed Vegas. OK, there’s a lot of stuff we didn’t miss, like the stale cigarette smoke ambiance of hotel casino floors, overpriced everything, taxi drivers that take circuitous routes to the strip… There’s plenty to hate about Sin City, but the big Show, hosted by the NSSF is not one of them, even with all the hoops the attendees had to jump through in order to attend. Be that as it may, my critique of social issues is not why you are here. You want to read about all the new Umarex gear slated to come to the retail shopping space in 2022. So without further ado, here’s the BIG NEWS from the big UX for this year!
Big Wheels a Rollin’, Movin’ On
I do not recall a time in my life where we’ve depended so much on the abilities of third-party shippers to get products the last mile. The last mile is industry jargon for store-to-consumer. Most of my life this was a matter of going to the store and picking up the items I wanted in person. In this “order it online” world we live in, there is an incredible amount of shopping done from our computers and especially our mobile phones. The world of commerce has always rolled on commercial shippers’ wheels, but not like it’s rolling today.
