The hop-up is a device found on some airsoft guns that imparts a backspin on the round BB before it exits the barrel. This backspin helps the BB fly straight and farther before dropping. On some airsoft guns the hop-up is adjustable so the user can tune the airsoft gun to the particular weight of BB he or she is using.
